We headed east down the South Arm of Knife Lake and portages into Bonnie, and Spoon. From Spoon we portaged east through a series of tiny lakes packed with beaver activity and into Sema Lake. I think the beavers are enjoying the extended fall as much as we are. They are busy gathering food and adding an extra layer of mud and sticks to their lodges.
Finally, we portaged out of Sema back into the South Arm of Knife Lake. The sun began to set as we paddled back to our campsite, so we decided to stop at Thunder Point and hike up to the top to watch the sunset. Thunder Point towers high above Knife Lake and from the top you have a commanding view to the west down Knife Lake. The clouds were a little too dense so the sunset was rather anticlimactic, but the view from the top beats watching TV any day.
