Hosting Dave and Amy Freeman in our Patagonia stores in the Midwest has proven to be among the most engaging and inspiring events we’ve ever done. They bring a very approachable and warm presence and their passion for advocacy shows in how they are able to connect with people. You would be hard pressed to find a couple more dedicated to teaching and inspiring the love and protection of the outdoors more than the Freemans.
I’ve attended and helped produce scores of retail store events, and the event I attended at Patagonia St. Paul in 2015 that kicked off the Year in the Wilderness was one of the most touching and uplifting events I’ve ever had the pleasure of participating in. It was a night I am sure most who attended won’t forget.

Dave and Amy Freeman have spoken several times at North House on a variety of topics. They have enthralled and inspired our wide audience, which usually includes everyone from the armchair adventurer to accomplished world traveler. Through stunning photography, entertaining video clips and of course, well-told stories, Dave and Amy convey a sense of humble wonder for the winding paths they’ve traveled and the interesting characters they’ve met along the way. In addition to travelogues, Dave & Amy have also given highly informative presentations designed to teach people the skills they will need to get out and adventure for themselves. Because Dave & Amy are so warm and approachable, people instantly feel comfortable asking both simple and detailed questions about winter camping, kayaking, trip planning, dog sledding, rainforest travel and more. We always look forward to hearing about their latest adventures and sharing their passionate love for exploring planet earth.

Few programs live up to my expectations, but your presentation exceeded it. That is as quiet as my group has ever been for any presentation. I think everyone was as enthralled as I was. Your tag-team approach worked so well…. Again, thanks for the super program.

Dave and Amy Freeman were a welcome addition to our event. They provided a wonderful Keynote Presentation as well as some hands on classes. They have a love and passion for the outdoors, and it shows in the presentations they provide. They are always welcome at our event, and we look forward to having them back!
Dave was excellent and presented all information in a very kid-friendly manner. On a scale of 1 to 10, Mr. Freeman’s presentation was an 11. The students enjoyed the poison dart blow gun, hammock and clothing… I would love for him to come back in the very near future.

Thanks for coming to Grand Rapids last week to do a program at our library! Your presentation was very well received. There were 65-70 people in the audience and 49 returned evaluations. We ask patrons to let us know how they would rate the overall quality of the program they attended. Of the 49 responses (which is a huge return rate!) 43 rated your program 5 out of 5 points possible; 4 wrote in “6” or “5+”… Many people did write comments—“Excellent!” “Outstanding! I would hope this presentation can get to many communities.” “Engaging, fascinating, inspiring.” “Awesome!” “Great!” “Very enjoyable—good people.” “Very informative.” etc. I wanted to let you know that you have a comfortable and engaging way of sharing your message and relating your experiences and our audience caught onto that quickly! I appreciate that you could fit us into your busy schedule. Keep in touch, and as your work evolves, perhaps you’ll come back for a future program!
Thanks again!

Your presentation was excellent! It was very educational, yet fun and captivating. The students were eager to do and research more! This was by far the best assembly we have had, it was the most educational and inspiring for students. Keep up the great work!

Your enthusiasm and the knowledge was something the children picked up on, very infectious! The interactivity, asking and answering questions was a great way of developing the children’s knowledge and really encouraged engagement. Your Skype program was an excellent, practical and very real learning experience! Thanks!
