We visited the @qualitybike HQ to get fitted for our new @surlybikes . Our next adventure advocacy project to @SavetheBWCA begins in less than 2 months and we are stoked to be pedaling Surly Disk Truckers! We will unveil our plans at @Canoecopia on March 9th, but we can tell you it involves books, boats, bikes, and protecting our Nation’s most popular Wilderness.

In January of this year, the U.S. Forest Service downgraded the legally-mandated environmental review of the proposed minerals withdrawal from a full EIS to a less-rigorous “environmental assessment.” One of the many negative results of the downgrade is a reduced opportunity for public comment. The Superior National Forest lands in the study area belong to all the people of the United States, now and in the future. The National Forest does not belong to a Chilean mining company (with a history of environmental violations and multiple alleged instances of corruption), its allied politicians, or the tiny handful of people who would benefit economically from this mine.

The comment period ends on February 28th, so please follow the link in our bio and share this with your friends. We need hundreds of thousands of citizens to sign the petition and speak loudly for the Boundary Waters and it all starts with you. Please take action now.

So many great hiking opportunities along the Rio Grande! Most days we stopped early enough to explore our surroundings. This side canyon was one of our favorites.

Twelve paddlers gathered together outside #bigbendnationalpark ! Tomorrow we hit the water for 8 days of wilderness, whitewater, hiking, hot springs, and lots of great paddling on the #riogrande !
