Chopping a hole in the ice to gather water each morning helps us remember how precious clean water is.

This is critical moment for the Wilderness. Please join Amy and me in speaking loudly for this quiet place. Add your comment during the Forest Service’s review of the Boundary Waters Watershed and help protect this special place. On January 13th the United States Forest Service officially announced a two-year pause on mining activities in approximately 234,328 acres of the Superior National Forest, a vital portion of the watershed of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
The announcement started a 90-day period for the public to comment on the Forest Service’s application for withdrawal of these lands and minerals from the federal leasing program. As citizens, it is critical that we all make our voices heard and submit a comment (link in bio). Now it is time to roll up our sleeves and get to work and speak loudly for this quiet place. We are sharing a Boundary Waters photo or video clip on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, with a call to action every day for 90 days. We hope you will join us by sharing, liking, and commenting on our posts, as well as sharing your own images, stories, and calls to action. Send your friends, neighbors, and family, along with all the people you meet on buses and beaches, and in board meetings and bars to http://ift.tt/2jgv14m and encourage them to make their voices heard. #wildernessyear #savetheBWCA #ourwild #onlyinMN #BoundaryWaters #Wilderness #nature #water #protect
