Today’s #WildernessWednesday photo was taken by Willy Vosburgh in the midst of our last resupply before the spring breakup during our #WildernessYear to @savetheBWCA. Willy and a group of volunteers skied and dogsledded 18 miles into the heart of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness to drop off several hundred pounds of food and supplies. The temperatures soared, melting all the snow, which formed large pools of water on top of the ice. Willy captured this photo with his phone as the sun set on their long trek out of the Wilderness at the end of the day. Levi, our expedition manager, was driving the dog team from Wintergreen Dogsled Lodge that hauled all of the food and supplies to our campsite. It would be nearly a month before we saw another person.
