We portaged past Curtain Falls for the last time during our @wildernessyear to @savetheBWCA yesterday. We are traveling upstream through Crooked Lake, the Basswood River and Basswood Lake as we prepare to exit the Wilderness in ten short days. The water from the proposed Twin Metals mine would flow through these pristine lakes and rivers and over Curtain Falls on its way west to Voyageurs National Park.
This place is just too precious to risk. Sulfide-ore copper mines like Twin Metals have a horrible track record of pollution. Please visit http://ift.tt/1x2erSX and take action today.
