Our butts have been planted in front of computers a lot lately because we are busy writing a book about our year in the Wilderness.
Over the last few days we have been writing about spring and traveling over the melting lakes. It makes me want to go Boundary Waters bobsledding again this spring!
Please follow us, like and share our posts, post your own photos and stories about the Boundary Waters, tag #savetheBWCA, and most importantly encourage as many people as possibly to submit a comment at http://ift.tt/2jgv14m and help protect the #Wilderness from sulfide-ore copper mining. We are in the middle of a critical 90 day comment period which will help determine if the Boundary Waters Watershed will remain protected from sulfide-ore copper mining.

I am looking forward to coffee in the Wilderness next summer, watching the mist burn off the lake. The Boundary Waters is too precious to risk. Send a comment to the USFS today and make your voice heard. (Link in bio) http://ift.tt/2jgv14m #wildernessyear #SaveTheBWCA #boundarywaters

A lot of folks have been asking us what they can do to help protect the Boundary Waters. Right now probably the best thing you can do is join our Wilderness Warriors group. It only takes a minute to sign up and each week Save the Boundary Waters will send you easy, impactful actions you can take from wherever you are. Together we’ll make sure key leaders are hearing from us and that we stand up to attacks from anti-BWCA forces trying to undo recent progress and expedite sulfide-ore copper mining on the edge of the Boundary Waters. Follow the link in our bio to become a Wilderness Warrior! Its feels good to take action and help protect such a special place, so please join us. #boundarywaters #SaveTheBWCA #resist #oathofaction #conservation #water #protest #ourwild #boundarywaters

Yesterday Congressman Rick Nolan announced that he is asking the Trump Administration to reverse the two-year review of the Boundary Waters watershed and allow sulfide-ore copper mining without studying the risks to this world-class Wilderness. Today we joined about 100 concerned citizens for protest in front of Rep. Nolan’s office in Duluth.
Congressman Nolan’s outrageous demand that the Forest Service shut down its newly-initiated and important study is political posturing at its worst. This two-year study will inform citizens and agencies about the risk to the Boundary Waters if sulfide-ore copper mining were allowed near the Wilderness. Nolan’s rhetoric is anti-Boundary Waters, anti-science, and anti-citizen! Make sure he hears from you!
If you live in the 8th district let Rep. Nolan know that you disagree! Call his office (218) 464-5095 and voice your support for the 2 year study that the forest service is currently undertaking. Tell him to stop trying to derail this important scientific process.
If you live in Minnesota call your senators to voice your concerns about Nolans dangerous actions and ask them to do everything they can to counter Nolan’s anti-BWCA actions.

Klobuchar: 202-224-3244
